A workshop on Student Leadership Program was held at Dr. D. Y. Patil College Of Pharmacy, Akurdi on 10th of August 2019. The session conducted by IDF consisted deep information about the vision and mission of IDF and the SLP itself.  Indian Development Foundation (IDF) has taken its enlarged and new responsibilities spanning health, education and development areas. These are priority health areas of the Govt. and IDF is focusing its efforts in these areas. The Field Staff and volunteers are giving health awareness talks on these diseases to students in Schools, Colleges and Institutions throughout India.  Campaigns in Mass Media are taken up with all enthusiasm.
 
Education to the handicapped, the poor and the marginalized children in rural areas, tribal villages and urban slums is a priority concern for IDF.  Education gives empowerment in employment areas, commercial activities, health care and in fact Total Quality of Life.  IDF focusing on Women Empowerment Programmes providing adult education and vocational training to women folks under  - Sarva Sakhi Swabhiman (Project S-3)


Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Akurdi, Pune has signed MOU with IDF with a vision to work towards a better India which provides for basic health, education and empowerment for every citizen. To support the Government actively in its Vision 2020 programme. In line with this commitment, we have adopted a mission statement which aims at the following
 
Establish IDF Gurukuls/ Empowerment Schools to provide basic education
Mobilize resources from the society for the community development programmes
Provide support base for designated health activities
Organize rural and tribal development programmes
Women empowerment programme
Empowering the youth by Youth Empowerment Series (YES) programmes
Rekindle social and scientific temper in the society.
Mediate and assist Government in implementing developmental programmes.
Enhance corporate social responsibility initiatives
Nurture awareness among the masses and provide linkage to health care facilities.
Target poverty alleviation programme
 
The session was conducted by Master Mentor Ms. Poonam Jain. 
The session included life skills and various aspects of mentoring, content and structure of the 8 week sessions that will be conducted by mentors in schools. Anger management, time management, fear management, public speaking, good company baf company, code of conduct and norms of certain do's and don'ts for mentor communication policy and social media policy, safety policy that is to be followed by mentor while they are conducting session was informed by Ms. Jain..
The session was informative, interesting as well as interactive.  Ms. Poonam included various activities and tricks to keep the student mentors engaged in the session  The session ended with a warm vote of thanks and a few group photos with bright smiles.
