In India the National Doctors' Day is celebrated on 1stJuly all across India to honor the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr Roy was honored with the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on 4thFebruary 1961. The celebration of the Doctors' Day is an attempt to emphasize on the value of doctors in our lives and to offer them our respects by commemorating one of their greatest representatives. India has shown remarkable improvements in the medical field and July 1 pays a perfect tribute to all the doctors who have made relentless efforts towards achieving this goal irrespective of the odds.
Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy Akurdi celebrated ‘National Doctors' Day’ on 1st June 2019. An annual observance is aimed to express a heart felt thanks to the entire doctor’s Dr. Sudhir Pandya, Ms. Priyatama Powar, Ms. Sarika Nikam, and 15 students ,visited Lokamanya Hospital to express their gratitude towards the doctors. The students interacted with Dr. Shrikrishna Joshi, Chief Operating Officer, Lokmanya Hospital, Chinchwad, Pune, Dr. Rohan Kate, MBBS DNB General Medicine and many other sheer physicians.The students had one on one interaction with the medical specialists and acquired knowledge as both, the pharmaceutical and medical field gohand in hand. Thus, the students and faculty played their part and tried to imbibe awareness related to the most important field of human science.
