Three days webinar series organized by Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Akurdi, Pune, on the theme “Ethical Principles Governing Pharmacy”
Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Akurdi, Pune, in its endeavor to provide a platform for thought-provoking deliberations, had organized three days webinar series, on the theme “Ethical Principles Governing Pharmacy” from 11th to 13th May 2021. The major objective was to apprise researchers and academicians about diverse aspects of principles governing pharmacy related to authentication of drug information for healthcare professionals and patients, publication proficiency for their research work, promotion of animal ethics and strive to extend its principles for care by recommended and approved methods.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. N. S. Vyawahare appreciated the efforts of all the speakers, in their respective field and emphasized the objective along with the importance for conduct of these webinar series.
This webinar series was coordinated by Dr. Devendra Shirode under the guidance of Principal Dr. N. S. Vyawahare, while Ms. Shivani Patil introduced the speakers of the session.
The first webinar on “Patient-centric drug information service for reducing medication errors”, was conducted on 11th May, wherein Mr. Vikas Arora, Director, Infokart India Pvt. Ltd presented an insight on effective use of Lexicomp software, an evidence base information tool, to improve patient safety, ensure compliance and elevate the quality of patients care through drug information services. The second webinar was on “Publication proficiency: Pharmaceutical Avenue” was conducted on 12th May, in which Dr. V. A. Chakkarwar, Director, (Prime editors) & President (Society for R & D in Health Sciences) emphasized on proficiency for writing and publication. Sir also talked on the significance of soft skills for publication was highlighted. He also portrayed how the TRP of a publication can be improved by selection of user-friendly software. Thus, his words “Write for reader and not for writer”, needs to be implemented by all to polish one’s publication. While the third webinar on “Human animal relationship” was conducted on 13th May, in which Dr. P. B. Wangikar, Director, PRADO-Preclinical R & D, Pune, discussed on advancement of knowledge, legislations and the acts intended for specific experiments to be performed with due care so as to minimize the pain inflicted on the animals.
Overall the sessions were very illuminating and engrossing which have been benefited to more than 500 participants from various institutes. Thus, sessions ended with brainstorming questions & answers with vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Vrushali Patil.
